The Beach Party on Saturday night was quiet enough, although some people dressed up and there were were even a couple of TOURISTS!

Legendz Karaoke

We regularly have karaoke in the bar, but Ive never seen a karaoke couple who know their stuff, get people involved, are talented themselves, and above all, appear to enjoy themselves and get involved with the various nutters around the bar ( and I’m not excluding myself in that description! ) like these guys! They’re also ably abetted by “Sausages”.

Gay Pride

This is Gay Pride week in Dublin. This year’s theme “Pride and Prejudice?”, celebrates pride in who we are as LGBTQ people and as a community, whilst questioning our community, society in general and ourselves on our attitudes and prejudices. The festival should celebrate diversity and challenge peoples’ perceptions of it.

The big march is on next Saturday at 2pm, and there are other events all this week. There’s a full program here

Going to or supporting a Pride march doesn’t mean people will think you’re gay. Everyone is welcome and all it says about you is that you support respect for everybody regardless of their sexuality, so if you can, GO.

Fleadh Ceol

The County Cavan Fleadh Ceol is in Kilnaleck this weekend, and it looks like Summer’s arrived just in time. We have live Music from Na Fianna and The Cosmic Cowboys on Saturday and Sunday nights and there’s dancing and music from 8 o’clock this evening in all the pubs and on the street.

Rally

The Kilmore Hotel Cavan Stages Rally passed near here yesterday. In my opinion once you’ve seen one car going round a corner fast, you’ve seen them all. Still, the event seemed to be very well organised by Cavan Motor Club. It was difficult to get anywhere near the route and the large crowd had to take to the fields. I was out at Relagh Cross for a while.
